Video: CDOT Speeds Data Collection from Months to Minutes with Spike and Survey123

The Colorado Department of Transportation was an early adopter of the integration between Spike and Esri’s Survey123 for ArcGIS®. CDOT’s initial project was a signage inventory project, where they needed to measure over two thousand signs. Using their old method of laptops and pen and paper, this would have taken them months. By switching to an end-to-end mobile solution of tablets equipped with Spike and Survey123, they reduced their inventory collection times from months to minutes.

Today, CDOT has over 25 Spike units deployed in the field with tablets and Survey123, and plan for a larger rollout in the near future. Field teams are using Spike for other projects, including facilities management and environmental quality.
