Allow us to introduce you to Derek Jensen, our quality assurance manager in the Seattle office. Derek plays a key role in making sure our products meet our customers’ high standards, and we’re lucky to have him on the ikeGPS team. Take a moment to meet Derek.
As the quality assurance manager, I lead a team of testers who work on improving the quality of our products. I provide direction for testing, keep the team up to date on development and company news, and work to refine our test process and how our team works with the developers. My role is to ensure our team can test effectively.
My day is typically busy with emails, meetings and testing. We test new functions and features prior to releasing to end users, ensure that existing functionality is not negatively impacted by the addition of new features, and investigate and reproduce issues.
I did quality assurance for a company in Seattle that develops light-based sensing technology. My daily role consisted of typical QA activities, including testing new functions as they were developed and supporting sales efforts.
The IKE and Spike devices are very cool. They employ a wide range of technologies, which present interesting testing challenges.
I wanted to be a photographer.
I love to go mountain biking and snowboarding.
