Wellington, New Zealand-based ikeGPS announces a new exclusive reselling agreement with Spicers Sign and Display that introduces distribution of Spike, a smart laser measurement solution, to the Australian sign and digital graphics industry. This move comes following ikeGPS’ successful Spike launch across the U.S. sign market over the last year.
“After seeing so many sign shops embrace Spike, we’re thrilled to bring this solution to the Australian market,” says Jeff Ross, chief marketing officer of ikeGPS. “The U.S. sign market has been quick to adopt Spike for its cost-cutting and time-saving abilities, and we look forward to helping Spicers achieve similar success in Australia.”
With nine locations and more than 5000 customers throughout Australia, Spicers Sign and Display is one of the continent’s largest sign supply resellers. Spicers Sign and Display offers a complete suite of wide-format printing solutions and carries a selection of the industry’s leading brands, such as 3M, EFI, Epson, Hewlett-Packard Co. and Mimaki.
Spike allows sign and digital graphics professionals to quickly capture accurate measurements of the width, height and area of signage locations from a smartphone or tablet picture. A ladder, bucket truck and tape measure are no longer required to create estimates, saving sign companies time and overhead costs on a traditionally lengthy process.
The measurements of the sign or graphic location are saved with the Spike photo and can be shared with customers, designers or production team to create job estimates and design proofs, assess installation and complete permit applications. If additional measurements are needed, users can refer to their saved Spike photos at any time to make modifications. There’s no need to return to the site for further measurements or estimations.
“We strive to offer the industry’s most cutting-edge products, and there’s no other solution like Spike on the market,” says Ken Booth, general manager of Spicers Sign and Display. “Our sales and customer service teams are excited to bring Spike to our customers, and we know that our customers will find that Spike can help them become more competitive with more efficient business practices.”
To learn more about Spike, interested sign and digital graphics shops should contact Spicers Sign and Display at email@example.com or 1-300-132-644.
Established in 1992 under the company name Mosfax, IMEDIA Imaging Supplies was a leading manufacturer of thermal fax rolls and cash register rolls.
With the decline of thermal fax, Mosfax turned its attention to the growing inkjet market and became a supplier to the architectural, engineering and large format copier markets as well as the higher quality inkjet market for point of sale, display, signage and proofing.
In early 2000 the company went through an ownership change and in July 2000, iIMEDIA Imaging Supplies was established. It has since become one of the leading suppliers to the emerging large format digital printing industry, distributing media, large format printers, software and general consumable items.
In October 2007, IMEDIA was acquired by PaperlinX to expand its operations in Australia into the sign and display industry, as it has in Europe with the Robert Horne Group, by taking the IMEDIA brand to an Australian national identity. PaperlinX is one of the world’s leading merchants of paper, communication materials and diversified products and services.
In June 2012, IMEDIA merged businesses with its sister companies Spicers Paper and Dalton to become Spicers. In September 2012, Spicers partnered with Budde International Techologies, bringing with it a well-respected high-end range of digital trimmers, laminators and software.
